YouTube Traffic and Your Affiliate Network
Tuesday, October 28th, 2008If you’re one of the many affiliate marketers that take advantage of YouTube to promote affiliate products and/or services, then you may have already experienced issues with the traffic you send to your respective merchants.
The YouTube community is comprised mainly of individuals who are seeking entertainment, and who did not go online with the intent to actually buy/sign up for something. This can lead to very poor conversions. Even when you can successfully convert leads, often times you may find that many of those leads are backing out and you may end up getting scrubbed. After an advertiser receives enough of this low quality traffic, some may even ask your network to have you stop running the offer.
Now, I have never worked on the affiliate network side of things, and there are a lot of aspects about that business that I don’t understand. I don’t pretend to have a clear grasp of why certain networks are run differently than others, BUT, I do have a clear perspective from an affiliate marketer’s point of view.
By FAR, the most helpful and supportive network in regard to my YouTube promotion activity has been Ads4Dough. It seems like Jason or one of his AMs are always online, and it’s never difficult to get a quick resolution to any problem I might be having (and those problems are few and far between).
Forgive me for sounding commercial or overly promotional with this post, but I think it is very relevant. Many affiliate marketers become frustrated after putting hours and hours into YouTube marketing campaigns, only to have their affiliate network tell them the traffic is no good (or worse yet, that they won’t be paying for all of it).
Not only has Ads4Dough enabled me to actively use YouTube as a promotional vehicle, but they’ve even given me tips and suggestions that I would have never thought of to further maximize my potential with it. Jason even confided in me that he himself used to run massive YouTube campaigns (prior to becoming the owner of a rapidly growing affiliate network).
I can’t think of a better network to be with for anyone serious about marketing affiliate products/services with YouTube. They have a ton of offers, competitive payouts, and top-notch support.
